Eagle-eyed Store Hadji alerted us to 22 minutes of previously unseen footage from Orson Welles' uncompleted "The Other Side of the Wind," now available online.
Credited as belonging to The Library of Henry Jaglom and featured on his YouTube channel, the edited color and black and white footage was posted two weeks ago. The clip may be designed to stir interest in the book "My Lunches with Orson: Conversations between Henry Jaglom and Orson Welles," which is due out in July.
Featured is a scene with Jake Hannaford (John Huston) and Brooks Otterlake (Peter Bogdanovich) discussing the former's finances and relationship with leading man John Dale. Other scenes include appearances by Jaglom, Paul Stewart, Norman Foster and Dennis Hopper.
The "OSOTW" scenes on the YouTube clip are followed by unrelated footage of the late Natalie Wood.
Filmed in the 1970s, "OSOTW" portrays the last hours of an aging film director (Huston). Welles struggled in his final years to obtain the necessary finances to complete post-production on the film. His companion and collaborator Oja Kodar, along with Bogdanovich, have attempted in recent years to secure a deal to complete and release "OSOTW," though its future remains uncertain.
