Ireland’s 10-day Cork Film Festival, which gets underway tonight, will include four Orson Welles offerings in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the late director’s birth.
Citzen Kane (Nov. 10), F For Fake (Nov. 13), The Lady From Shanghai (Nov. 14) and Othello (Nov. 15) will be screeened at Triskel Christ Church.
Welles biographer Simon Callow will introduce F For Fake. He will also sign copies of his new book Orson Welles, Volume 3: One-Man Band, the third in a planned four-part series examining Welles’ life.
Now in its 60th year, the Cork Film Festival is Ireland’s oldest movie fest and one of the oldest such events in Europe. It also Cork’s premiere cultural happening.
The festival offers a mix of big budget pictures, independent films, documentaries and short films from across the world.
