A blogger has posted through rapidshare the 2-part Arena: Orson Welles Story; six episodes of Sketchbook (five from the recent airing and the sixth from a collector); and Simon Callow's Orson Welles Over Europe.
They download as .rar files and can be extracted using WinRar into high quality .avi files.

Jesus God. How have we been missing the second (or third, depending on how you count) Arena program on Welles, The Complete Citizen Kane, all these years? That's a wonderful chunk of documentary, which crosses over into and uses bits from The Orson Welles Story, and then segues seamlessly into new and expanded material still narrated by Leslie Megahey. I'd thought the story of Ted Turner getting his crayons on Kane was just a looming threat - I didn't know the final reel had actually been colorized nor that I would be seeing extracts from it. And a faux opening reel of Heart of Darkness, with Welles reading his narration accompanied by Benny Herrmann music over a reconstructed model shot planned by Welles originally? Oh my Jehosaphat.

"An Arena Special looking at Orson Welles and the production of the film CITIZEN KANE, considering the furore that accompanied it and the real life press baron William Randolph Hearst upon whom Kane is based, and his efforts to halt the film, destroy the negative and persecution of people involved with its production and showing. It includes BBC interviews with Welles made in 1960 and 1982, and film historian Robert Carringer looks at the scenes that never made it to the screen. American film critic Pauline Kael also analyses the film's enduring appeal.

In a nice touch, William Alland reprises his "News on the March" character from Kane to narrate the newsreel footage."

Wow, this is really "Terrific."

Warner Bros. should just get the BBC to do the extras on AMBERSONS and kick themselves for not using this doc on their KANE DVD.

Simon Callow's WELLES OVER EUROPE is also very well done. The most time is wisely devoted to FALSTAFF, but given the show is only 60 minutes, that still doesn't leave much time for each film Welles did in Europe.

What the BBC should do is a complete doc. on FALSTAFF, with Simon Callow as host, featuring Keith Baxter, Jeanne Moreau, and whoever else that worked on the film that is still around. That would be really "Terrific."

I must be missing something. How do I download the files? I've paid my annual fee, but when I go to the page with the codes http://bigarville.blogspot.com/2009/12/complete-citizen-kane.html, the links are not active; that is, I can't click on them. And when I copy and paste them into my toolbar, it takes me back to the site, which tells me I'm already logged in and asks me whether I want to join again.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Does anyone know if it's necessary to download all the parts (or episodes) in order to view them? I've just tried to download part 6 of Sketchbook (using Stuffit expander on a Mac), but I seem to be encountering a snafu. Any other Mac users try this?

You need to download all 6 part. Then right click open Part 1 using WinRar and check the indicated folder. It will give you six avi files for the six different episodes
