this month on IFC, TELLING LIES IN AMERICA. almost an excellent film. kevin bacon plays payola era greasy dj. pretty excellent on limited budget.
my netflix package brough BIG SLEEP package, release, prerelease version, excellent.
rhino classic albums, electric lady land, hendrix:
much better than i expected. excellent documentary about events surrounding the recording of the record. hendrix has to be the most tallented, flamboyant man that ever held a guitar.
rhino's hendrix live at the filmore, band of gypsies:
tremendous. documentary, photos, concert in intimate club atmosphere, the whole concert, on early B&W video.
hitchcock:
the first SABATEUR, and silent film, THE BOARDER, about jack the ripper. neither have kept my interest to get through it, but will give it another stab before i return them. THE LODGER is in pretty bad shape.
1-hr hitch interview tapped for tv:
late 50s, early 60s, not sure. excellent.
the best ever hitch interview i found in bogdanovich's WHO THE DEVIL MADE IT. also has bitching interview with hawks, dwan, ulmer, lang, and many more.
and what does this have to do with orson welles? absolutely nothing.
