Orson Welles' Wonder Show - when was this broadcast?

Here's another Jeff question.

I found an AFRS broadcast called "Orson Welles' Wonder Show" featuring Aurora Miranda, Barney Bigard (?) and the All-Star Jazz Band, and Lucille Ball.

It was broadcast from the Naval Air Station at "Terminal Island" (I think he's saying) and runs 30 minutes.

Do we know the date for this show? Sounds like a one-off for AFRS.

I'll dig through TIOW; maybe it's there.

Actually, it matches Rosenbaum's description for Orson Welles Almanac May 3rd 1944, so it's probably that one (though there's nothing about The Flying Red Horse) - so a re-edited AFRS rebroadcast then.

That is a frequent mistake among the people selling the bulk radio shows, which probably originated before them. There are other shows from the Almanac series which are simply listed by some sellers as the Wonder Show. Odds are if they call it the Mercury Wonder Show, it's really the Orson Welles Almanac series. Welles was actually performing the Wonder Show before some of these broadcasts, so that's probably where some of the confusion comes in.
