At the Ha-Ra Club, last night, Todd Baesen and I did indeed raise glasses to you, Nellie McKay, Noelle Noel, Jenna, Heidi, Nate, and the Orange Coast Op.

Toddy says that Larry French needs assistance in moving materials (like you provide here) from his Facebook Page to our "official" Wellesnet site, here.

Any suggestions for software, processes?

As far as software goes, I'm an iMac guy, so I do most of my stuff with the iWork program called "Pages". My Welles obsession is always a great excuse to expiriment with it.

Thank you, Mike. For the Absinthe, we'll have to go nearer my home at Leavenworth and Geary, to RYE. There, Amanda or Jennifer, while making several other exotic cocktails, does the Absinthe thing, burning sugar cube and all. Baesen has not quite sunk to the dram house level yet, but who can say what a whiff of radiation will bring out in him?

My preference is the iMac, but I'm unskilled. You are obviously talented and experienced. Why don't you contact Larry? Help him get off "the nickel under his foot"!

[What a beautiful, macabre illustration, Mike! The figure might be a gothic take on RYE's Amanda, but it also resembles Toddy in a way, just before he tackles a second bottle of wine, late in the evening. Absinthe, we shall have, next time.]

I like the online video tutorials at the the Apple website (http://www.apple.com/findouthow/mac/). They give you a good flavor for it at least.

I've always wondered whether Welles tried absinthe or not, especially when he was living in Spain, where it was never outlawed. He certainly seems to have had a kind of absinthe attitude in a lot of his art, half wistful reverie, half grotesque nightmare.
