So, Charles Higham's name is pretty much worthless in Welles Academia, as I understand. I'm afraid to admit that the very first book on Welles I bought (before I knew much about him at all, really) was his "Orson Welles: The Rise and Fall of an American Genius". I understand from reading a few comments in old threads here that Mr. Higham has made up stories in regards to Orson? I guess I'm just trying to get a better handle on why exactly his book(s?) is/are held in such low regard.
I'd greatly appreciate any illumination you fine folks could provide.
