‘Winds of Welles’ ― American Cinematheque offering retrospect in October

The Aero in Santa Monica is home to the American Cinematheque retrospect on the films of Orson Welles.

The American Cinematheque has scheduled an Orson Welles retrospect at The Aero in Santa Monica, California, in October.

The series encompasses Welles career, from his start at RKO Pictures to his work as an independent filmmaker. It is entitled The Winds of Welles.

Screenings of  They’ll Love Me When I’m Dead and The Other Side of the Wind are free with a RSVP!

The American Cinematheque lineup of 10 films includes: 

Thursday, October 11: F For Fake (35mm) and Citizen Kane (DCP)

Friday, October 12: Touch of Evil, Mr. Arkadin (both 35mm)

Saturday, October 13: The Magnificent Ambersons (35mm); The Lady From Shanghai (DCP)

Sunday, October 14: Chimes at Midnight (DCP), The Immortal Story (Blu-ray)

Monday, October 15: They’ll Love Me When I’m Dead (DCP)

Tuesday, October 16: The Other Side of the Wind (DCP)

Tickets for each double feature are $12 with discounts for American Cinematheque members, seniors and students.

Founded in 1981, the American Cinematheque is a non-profit, viewer-supported cultural organization dedicated exclusively to the public presentation of the moving picture in all its forms.
