He will kick off the Free Library of Philadelphia’s ambitious seven-part look at “Orson Welles & The Golden Age of Hollywood” on Wednesday, April 12.
“Orson Welles & The Golden Age of Hollywood” guest speakers include Ray Kelly of Wellesnet, Chicago Tribune movie critic Michael Phillips, and Bob Mondello of NPR’s “All Things Considered.”
The author of “Citizen Kane: A Filmmaker’s Journey” will make a trio of appearances in Southern California this month.
Orson Welles’ groundbreaking first feature film, “Citizen Kane,” is well-represented at the new Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles.
The documentary created by producer Filip Jan Rymsza and editor Bob Murawski from footage Orson Welles shot in 1970 will be screened at the Melbourne International Film Festival on August 22 and Jerusalem Film Festival on August 30.
Daron Hagen’s award-winning “Orson Rehearsed” will be screened on August 29 at the former Stony Creek Theatre in Connecticut, where Orson Welles staged “Too Much Johnson.”
