New Jersey’s nearly century-old Princeton Garden Theatre will show five films in honor of the 100th anniversary of Orson Welles’ birth.
The film series kicks off on May 6 with the Chuck Workman documentary Magician: The Astonishing Life & Work of Orson Welles, which sets the stage for the four Welles-directed offerings that follow.
“Orson Welles was a man of many talents — actor, director, writer and producer,” John Toner, the theater’s executive director said in a statement. “He is remembered for groundbreaking work in not only film, but theater and radio as well.”
Following Magician on May 6, the Garden Theatre will screen Citizen Kane on May 14, Touch of Evil on May 21, The Lady from Shanghai on May 28 and The Stranger on June 3.
