Happy 100th birthday Orson Welles

Happy Centennial Birthday to Orson Welles, one of the great American artists of the 20th Century, born this day 100 years ago in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Kenosha kicks off it’s multi-week celebration today, and along with several other cities, will be celebrating this special day with a showing of Welles’s most renowned creation, Citizen Kane.

Other  Kane screenings will take place in Barcelona, Spain; Woodstock, Illinois;  Saarbrucken, Germany; Boston;  Pittsburgh;  Indiana University in Bloomington; and Gdansk, Poland.

In addition, The Lady From Shanghai is being shown tonight at the University of Chicago, and Chuck Workman’s Magician: The Astonish Life and Work of Orson Welles will be screened in Princeton, New Jersey.

Tributes and celebrations of  Welles’ life and career continue  all over the world.

It’s been quite a year for Welles fans so far, and there’s much more to come!
