The Corinth is the 99-minute version. I can toss my old VHS tape. Got a lot of good trades out of it, though. Heck, I'll pay $40 for this glorious release!

Not to complain, because I opened this DVD with trembling hands last night, but didn't I hear that they had found a color version of the trailer a year or two ago? I've got a b/w one on my disc.

I've been gone for a while. Nice to hear that the Corinth Arkadin is in the works over at Criterion.

I figured as much, but the pre-Bogdanovich version that I have on 7th generation VHS had a british narrator. I wrongly assumed that this was the original.

Thanks!

Hmmm. I wonder why One Man Band doesn't have an English dub?

Ah, but to me final cut also means finances and the coming together of the elements. Â Kane was the only film that had all these things going for it. Â Sure, he had final cut on the films you listed, but the resources weren't there to film in the first place, so he was forced to cut corners. Macbeth...

CITIZEN BEA

Fade in: to a dark room where the dying Bea lies on a bed.

Cut to: an oscar statuette in her hands.

Cut to: her lips saying "Daddy."

Cut to: The oscar falling and breaking on the floor.

I think this play has finally come to an end.

Casablanca comes out next month with the clean-up. And a Roger Ebert commentary. No Peter Bogdanovich one though ;) . I look forward to that one. Also, The Treasure of Sierra Madre will be out at the end of September, one of the first in a line of WB titles that include newsreels, cartoons, and tra...

I actually started working on a post-apocalypse-type novel, in which this omega-man character travels the desolate country finding factions of remaining souls. He finds the original cut of MA in the attic of the UVA library in several cans labeled "How to Brush Your Teeth".

I've been wondering why, too. I think it may be because I really like the way all three (Welles, Huston, and Frankenheimer) use wide-angle lenses.

My top three directors are Welles, Huston (as you can see from my avatar), and Frankenheimer. Welles has this great resource "Wellesnet", so I decided that Huston and Frankenheimer each need one. Since there is absolutely no discussion going on about Frankenheimer anywhere, I decided to create a Yah...

I've decided I'll let the Chimes disc go for $20, which shaves a couple bucks off what I bought it for. It hasn't been viewed (in its entirety). If anyone wants it, please email me: fbarrett@netstrategies.com

Thanks, Jeff. It does say PAL as well as ALL REGION on the auction page. No NTSC. So, it's not the seller's fault, just my misunderstanding of ALL REGION, Region 0, and NTSC. I'll evaluate my options and decide whether I want to settle with watching this on a computer each time or maybe sell it to s...
