I don't have access to the article, but if there is someone who does, and can send it to me, then I can translate it.

Re: ‘The Other Side of the Wind’ being finished in Los Angeles for Netflix

Here's a good piece in Variety from a couple weeks back about Michel Legrand's work on the film score. Interesting bit about the opening music: Most unexpected of all is the melancholy Legrand piece that plays under Bogdanovich’s opening narration: It’s “Les delinquants” from the 1959 film “L’Ameriq...

Re: Reactions to 'The Other Side of the Wind'

You guys saw all the Rich Little footage in the exchange leading up to Gregory Sierra getting knocked on the head, right? No shade intended at all, but I’m fascinated by which ‘eccentricities’ get a pass from some of you and which stick in your craw and demand explanations for why they weren’t fixe...

Re: Reactions to 'The Other Side of the Wind'

It's not entirely clear, but I didn't interpret the new introduction as indicating that Otterlake had himself compiled the film. Yeah, that's true, that's definitely open to interpretation. My inital reading of it was that he was probably somehow involved (likely influenced by the real-life situati...

Re: Reactions to 'The Other Side of the Wind'

And, there are one or two little flashes of color and a shaking of the image (like the film is coming off its sprockets,) accompanied with a whooshing sound over John Dale in the bar scene. That's a contemporary editing effect which doesn't belong in Hannaford's film. Do you mean those flash frames...

French-dubbed DVD of European Othello

Hi, I seem to recall hearing about an old DVD edition of Welles' European cut of Othello, dubbed in French. Does anyone know if such a disc exists? I've just gotten a hold of the European cut with the original English soundtrack, but the image is VHS quality with subtitles. I would like to combine t...

Othello 3 DVD Set

It's quite exciting to think of a deluxe set for Othello similar to the Arkadin and Touch of Evil sets. According to the Orson Welles in Italia book there are even some rushes and several unused takes from the film stored in Rome (the author refers to the material as "the Othello doubles",...

Re: Scene from "L'Uomo, La Bestia e La Virtù"

There's quite a bit of information about the shooting of "L'Uomo, La Bestia e La Virtù" in the book Orson Welles in Italia . I don't have it at hand, but a few things I remember reading: Angelo Francesco Lavagnino did the music, and as a sort of in-joke, included some musical allusions to ...
