Re: Ohio theater to present 'Moby Dick- Rehearsed'

I'll do my best. I'm not a theatre person by any means, so I'm afraid it won't be groundbreaking stuff.

Wow. I hadn't seen that article before. I get it now. That's absolutely ridiculous.

Please educate a relative N00b, RE: Higham

So, Charles Higham's name is pretty much worthless in Welles Academia, as I understand. I'm afraid to admit that the very first book on Welles I bought (before I knew much about him at all, really) was his "Orson Welles: The Rise and Fall of an American Genius". I understand from reading a...

Re: Is The Mr. Arkadin Criterion DVD still in print?

Very true. It's also nice (as a film maker just starting out myself) that even the greatest film maker ever made a dud every once in a long while.

Today I'm going to watch the version with the commentary track. Hopefully that will shed some light on what went wrong with this one.

Re: Is The Mr. Arkadin Criterion DVD still in print?

Received my DVDs yesterday, two days before they were scheduled. Nice surprise. Sadly, I see why Mr. Arkadin is generally considered amongst Welles' worst work. The restoration couldn't cover up the fact that this movie was just not well made (at least according to the obscenely high standards Orson...

Shakespeare Films on Ebay

So I was just searching ebay idly and came across several "Region 0" versions of Macbeth and Chimes. They appear to be South Korean(?) and say they are "region 0" and will play anywhere. Anyone have any info on these? Should I avoid or jump on these. I was burnt by a Public Domai...

Re: Is The Mr. Arkadin Criterion DVD still in print?

Well now I just feel dumb. Just a few days ago I searched for both of these and I SWEAR it said they weren't available. Maybe I'm just losing it. Thanks!

EDIT: Got them both together for roughly 50 bucks. I call that at win. Thanks for the help!

Is The Mr. Arkadin Criterion DVD still in print?

Hello. This is my first post on these fine forums after lurking quite a while, and I was wondering if anyone knows the status of the Criterion Mr. Arkadin? I haven't been able to find it anywhere near where I live (and have also had trouble finding F For Fake as well. Maybe it's my town) and would b...
