Life imitates Art?

Guys, Been a while since I have posted, but I saw this little article and it made me think of a certain movie... Marc http://uk.reuters.com/article/burningIssues/idUKTRE50E0AM20090115 MIAMI (Reuters) - U.S. agents filed criminal charges on Wednesday against a pilot who parachuted out of his airplane...

I highly recommend this. It usually plays on IFC or worth a rental.

Glenn, Wow! thanks for sharing that little bit about your past. Ste, thanks for the heads up. That evil Amazon now has more of my hard earned money! I think I brought up this movie here some time in the past. For some reason, to me at least there were echos of the truth in it. I figured that the tr...

Alex,
I would start with the estate of Graham Greene and go from there. Best of luck with the short film.

You have to love "Youtube".

I think this has been discussed before. The first is the parody, then the second is the actual Welles audio re-dubed

This is an amazing set. Criterion has done a bang up job. Kudos to all the people who made this happen. BTW people, anyone here see some similarities between this film and Huston's "List of Adrian Messenger"?

Had Welles done commercial products for the studio in order to earn the right to do his pet projects (just as DUNE earned David Lynch the opportunity to do BLUE VELVET,) then it would have been interesting to see a 1940 RKO version of WAR OF THE WORLDS with Welles having final cut. or "The Shadow" ...

I seem to remember that the tour Mr. Chapman did was something called, "The Dangerous Sports Club". Extreme sports before the term was even coined. I saw this at the old "Ritz" in NYC (Now known as Webster Hall) and Mr. Chapman, showed movie and video clips of amazingly dangerous and absurd sports, ...

What a neat idea Chrissie!

I don't know how you could contact him, but I think you should try to get an illo from Howard Chaykin. In your neck of the woods, Brian Bolland? Dave Gibbons? Kevin O'Neill? (BTW, Love the Toth reply on your web site!)

To me, the whole opening with the work of Alexieff and Parker's work with Welles narration sets a chilling tone for what is to come. I saw one of the films by Alexieff and Parker at the NY Film festival back in the 70's and it got a huge response from the audience. I also remember PBS TV station in ...

At first, reading the archive, I had to look and see if the Date was on or near April 1. I then thought that maybe someone from the old National Lampoon did this. I just cannot take Pacios' stuff seriously. Too funny if you ask me.

Another good movie to view is John Houston's "The Kremlin Letter". Considering when it was made, it is ahead of it's time in a number of ways. And you get to see Orson chew up scenery as well.

Orson & Jazz, I believe this person is seen in the beginning of "FifF". Oja mentions this in the commentary as well. As to the opening of this movie pulls you right in and imho, in Welles performance, you see more than a glimmer of the Welles of old. Maybe an echo of Harry Lime? Go, no run and buy o...
