Re: Adam Ruins Everything - War of the Worlds
For what it's worth, I do remember when I was a kid my late grandfather telling me that he remembered the broadcast but that he was not fooled. However, he also told me that several of his neighbors had questioned the veracity of the fictitious reports. He lived in Worcester, Massachusetts, so if he...

Re: ‘The Other Side of the Wind’ being finished in Los Angeles for Netflix
I'm so glad that I'm a subscriber to Netflix even though I really don't watch very much on there. I can't wait to see this film. This is the most exciting news. I bought Josh Karp's book shortly after it was released, but it's been sitting on my bookshelf in my Orson collection collecting dust. I gu...

Re: Othello streaming on FilmStruck
Roger,
Thanks for the information. Much appreciated. I don't know how that article eluded me about the Olive release of Macbeth. I'm definitely going to purchase a DVD. The only copy I have now is an old VHS version in a plastic case that I purchased as a teenager in 1986. It still works!

Re: Othello streaming on FilmStruck
It would be great if Criterion released Othello and Macbeth on DVD. These two films really need a company of quality to release them. I guess it all understandably hinges on how much profit can be made. Hopefully, the recent release of Chimes at Midnight and The Immortal Story will rake in some mone...

Re: So...should I watch Franco's Don Quixote?
I would definitely watch Franco's assimilation of the footage if for no other reason than it was material that Welles shot with the hope of creating a very good film. I kind of look at it like an author's incomplete and unedited work given for public consumption posthumously -- something akin to the...

Wow! That is a rare script, indeed. Thanks for your response. That would be very interesting to read.

Script of Horse Eats Hat
Does anyone know if a copy of Orson's Horse Eats Hat is available? I know he adapted it. I have seen at least two translations from the French of An Italian Straw Hat that can be readily procured, but I have not been able to find a trace of Orson's. Does it still exist? Just curious.

Re: New DCP restoration of "Chimes at Midnight"
I have a few DVD's from Criterion, so I'm sure the quality will be fantastic on Chimes. I also like all the extras. I will always keep my old VHS copy though for nostalgic reasons!

Re: New DCP restoration of "Chimes at Midnight"
This is my first post. I cannot wait until Criterion releases Chimes. For about twenty years, all I have been able to watch is a slowly aging VHS copy that I purchased for (if my memory serves me correctly) 29.95. I think it was about 1996 or 97, and I was working a night janitorial job at a private...
