As I am beginning the long process of creating the new reconstruction of The Magnificent Ambersons, I thought I'd share with you one the examples of my process. I'm doing all the animation myself. I'm doing cell based animation, hand drawing, aided by rotoscoping.

I just shipped this off for scanning in 4K. The beginnings of a new project I am undertaking: a reconstruction of the long version of The Magnificent Ambersons!

I want to believe this as well, but I think Bamboozled is probably more likely. There is always the chance that this could be a "double clue," but that seems to be more of a phantom than an actually occurring visual device. Those Criterion folks are devilish at these sorts of things.
