Re: Chimes at Midnight Italian Issue.
Good find Scotsman. I watched the Italian issue just yesterday -the picture and sound quality is very good. On the downside the extra of the separate soundtrack tracks didn't work properly with the music keeping cutting out. Has anyone else had this problem? Also does anyone know if there has been a...

Who are your favourite Directors?
As a relative newbie to proper film I'd like your opinions, as you have better taste than the masses considering your on a Welles forum, on whose films are worth seeing. In particluar is the French New Wave stuff, Bergman and Fellini any good? Also are there any current directors work I should see? ...

I have only seen the Trial, Kane and the Stranger but the use of Albinoni's Adagio (well he wrote the first eight bars) in the Trial is brilliantly atmospheric and gives the mood of impending doom. The other sound track's free jazz is interesting and gives an eerie feel since it has no direct relat...

I was just wondering how you think Welles would have worked in today's film industy. Would he have been able to stay in Hollywood for his career and made large budget films or would he have had to self finance and become a nomad again? How would he have faired with the modern technology and shootin...

I got the Trial for Christmas, the Warner Brothers R2 release which is rather good probably only second to the French release from what I have seen, and it is has to be my favourite Welles film of all time; having said that however that could change since it is only the third of Welles' films I hav...

Hi everyone I am relatively new to the genius of Orson Welles. Of his films I have seen only Citizen Kane, last Christmas, and the Stranger; which I thought was very good. So I thought you could help me out. What books on Welles would you recommend?; especially regarding his films and filmaking. And...
