Re: The Way to Santiago

Pretty scathing review of Orson's screenplay by Carson Reeves from Script Shadow http://scriptshadow.net/screenplay-review-the-way-to-santiago/ Note that he hated the bus scene that Jeff enjoyed. A comment by Illimani Ferreira down the page has a different opinion to Carson and also speaks favourabl...

Re: Hopper / Welles

I see the YouTube footage has been taken and replaced with the message: Video unavailable This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Alexander Welles." Which I guess might suggest a blockage to this getting a wider release on streaming services or Blu-ray. See also: &qu...

Re: Criterion releases Othello on blu-ray

I can't find anything to suggest that Criterion has any plans to release this in the UK... but before I order an imported copy, just thought I'd ask here in case anyone's heard of a planned UK release?

Re: "Around the World" returning to New York Stage

I saw the production at Sadler's Wells in London yesterday. Glad to say it exceeded my expectations. The first half in particularly was punchy as hell and very very funny. I was crying with laughter at a couple of points. Welles script contains many gems, eg. 'There's a gentleman looking for a gentl...

looking for Roger Ryan Reconstructed Ambersons

Hello, I am looking for a copy of Roger Ryan Reconstructed Ambersons. Sadly don't have much to offer for trade, but do have: DVDs of The Fountain Of Youth, the Dick Cavett Show interview, or the AFI Salutes Orson Welles.

thanks, max

i personally liked The Witching... it's a perfectly presentable low-budget horror and Welles is decent enough in it.

i sampled some of the dialogue from it for an electronic music project once.

All, I'd just like people to consider that some of the wild speculation and interpretation of the available facts, not to mention attacks on the character of those involved by us here in the peanut gallery may well be damaging to the cause of getting the footage into decent storage. Surely we want ...
