Re: Reactions to 'The Other Side of the Wind'

Well, I haven't actively posted on this forum for a little over ten years... just wanted to "chime" in a say how great it is to finally see TOSOTW and then immediately go here and see what Ray, Roger etc have to say about it. All your comments on this thread have increased my enjoyment of ...

FWIW, most of these guys NEVER invest in their own projects, much less projects of others. Out here in L.A. the catch phrase is never use your own money. So why would they change their tune with Orson? These guys aren't entrepreneurs. Coppola is the only one of the bunch that is - and he had a hell ...

Let's not forget all the legal entanglements that this project has had over the years. As big a fan of Welles as I am sure all the directors who were approached, no one likes to "buy a headache." And let me tell you, I am sure that some of them were thinking the Iranian problem was just th...

Here's the response I got on this from Mark Waid, comic writer and well known authority on DC comics (and...my boss at the comic company that I now work for and that published my comic Left On Mission this past year. ) To the best of my knowlege, having spoken to those who would know, this was a dea...

Holy Cross in Culver City...the entrance is off Overland a bit south of Jefferson. She is buried in the old grotto. EDIT: " Grotto, Lot 196, Grave 6 (right of main sidewalk, near the curb)." - from Wikipedia. BTW - I think the Cahuenga address is a parking lot. I need to finish off the add...

Looks like Rita is a neighbor...

Rita Hayworth is buried down the street from where I live. I really believe she was one of the best actresses of her day. She's great in Gilda and of course Lady from Shanghai

Here is a photo:

When Roger Ryan said: ""Andrei Rublev" is probably the first film I've viewed in twenty years that immediately jumped into my top ten." he couldn't have taken the words right out of my mouth faster. What a film. Of course, I am waiting for them to hire Roger to finish Magnificent...

FWIW, the Eyemo brand delineated the 35mm version of Bell and Howell's line while the 16mm line was named the Filmo. Eyemo's were used up until the last 20 years or so as crash cams because of their durability. (I own a WWII era filmo that has most all the lenses and even the Bell and Howell oil can...
