On my website, greghatfield.net, I give my impressions of a few of the books on Welles that came out in 2015, plus the Magician documentary.

Orson Welles' Last Movie
I just got this book yesterday and am enjoying it immensely. Great stories, with terrific characters, all led by Orson on a whirlwind of a project. It's terrific.

Re: ORSON WELLES IN ITALY - new English translation
A couple of things about this book. Maybe this the way Orson should be studied in the future: Blocks of time, clearly identifying what he was working on, filming, writing, wanting to film, etc. Orson Welles in Italy is one of the best books on Welles I've ever read and I've read them all. Just a won...

I am reading this book right now and it is totally fascinating. I recommend it to all Welles fans.

Re: Interview with OTHELLO restoration producer Michael Dawson
Oh be still my heart. A restoration of Chimes at Midnight would be the best present a boy could have. I've seen a very nice print of this that I found online a few years ago and would love to have it on my shelf. Good luck with all your work, Michael Dawson.

RKO Birth of a Titan
I just wanted to recommend to the list RIchard B. Jewell's RKO Radio Pictures: The Birth of a Titan. It is a look at the business end of RKO Pictures, with insights to all of the studio heads, including George Schaefer and his dealings with OW. Jewell, who many know as the author of The RKO Story, h...

Re: Roger Ryan's Magnificent Ambersons reconstruction
I know I'm late to the party, but could I please get copies of Roger's and Jaimie's reconstructions? I would be happy to send discs and return postage, or trade some interesting Welles videos I have. Email me at ghatfield@gmail.com if you can help.
Thanks.

Re: Around the World missing tv episode found
Image is the distributor. My DVD says that Gray Film Sipirs S.A. (South Africa?) owns the program content. God, what a tangled web Orson's work has. But I agree, this would make a great Blu-Ray re-release.

Re: Marguerite H. Rippy: Orson Welles - Unfinished RKO Projects
I just got the book in from Amazon yesterday and began reading it last night. Rippy seems passionate about her subject and I believe she comes to praise our boy not to bury him. It's an expensive book, as these things usually are. But if you're as fascinated with Orson's RKO period, as I am, this co...

Re: Preliminary Magnificent Ambersons DVD info on amazon.com
I was in the Warner Home Theater chat and got to ask an Ambersons follow-up question and a Journey Into Fear question: (Guest44 is the Warner exec.) <@Guest44> AMBERSONS is still in the development stages...our plans for supplementary materials require much more time (and money)than expected. LOST S...

Thomson mentions a new documentary, The Unseen Orson Welles. What is that and who did it?
