Re: ‘My Lunches with Orson" from Henry Jaglom

Thanks for the clarification.

I didn't realize that the YouTube page was not really Henry Jaglom's, in which case it makes more sense that he wouldn't know anything about who posted it.

Re: ‘My Lunches with Orson" from Henry Jaglom

Ray, thanks for that nice interview with Henry Jaglom. However, I find it rather bizarre that Mr. Jaglom says he has no idea how the scenes from THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WIND ended up on his YouTube and Vimeo pages! I love the fact that he (or somebody) posted them, but I find it rather hard to believe...

Re: Don Quijote

Mido, thanks for pointing out the "Confirmation of Ownership Rights" affirming that Oja Kodar retained any and all available rights to the works she and Welles had done together. What would be very interesting is to see a copy of Welles's complete will, as well as the confirmation of owner...

Re: Did Welles steal LADY from William Castle?

As Mido points out, Welles did not "steal" If I die, but simply elevated it from a B picture to an A picture. Clearly Welles did not have the rights to the novel, and his story about seeing it on a bookstand is hogwash, but from reading Castle's book, I don't think he was bitter at all, me...

Re: "Henry Jaglom and Paul Mazursky directed by Orson Welles"

The links to just the Jaglom and Mazursky footage, which was up on YouTube for quite awhile, has also now been removed at the request of Oja Kodar's company.

Re: Official OTHER SIDE OF THE WIND Thread - All things OSotW he

As noted the new video looks better on Viemo, but it is also obvious, the soundtrack is made up of many different voices, including parts dubbed by Welles, as was usual. But your can clearly hear Peter Bogdanovich's voice on some lines for Mr. Pister, as well as Rich Little as Brooks Otterlake. Well...

Re: Six versions of CHIMES AT MIDNIGHT?!

Welles clearly edited and totally directed the battle scenes of CHIMES, and what people say after he is gone is almost pathetic. Just like Saul Bass directed the shower scene in PSYCHO. Simply incredible what people will believe! Welles films have one of the most unique signatures of any director in...

Re: Official OTHER SIDE OF THE WIND Thread - All things OSotW he

Strange that Oja would ask that footage to be taken down, as she apparently hasn't done anything about all the other clips that are available on YouTube, including just the clips of Henry Jaglom and Paul Mazursky. It's also interesting that the scene with Stafford Repp and whoever is playing Frankl ...

Re: BECAUSE OF THE CATS

Welles must have been drawn to it because of SINGING IN THE RAIN. Seriously, I find this rather fascinating. Was Welles simply indulging his mistress, Oja, or was he truly interested in the the project. Sadly, I must say Oja Kodar has very little talent, in any way shape or form, except for her shap...

Re: Official OTHER SIDE OF THE WIND Thread - All things OSotW he

What is clear to me, is whoever the voices are in these scenes, they are quite fantastic. The sound is the key, but unfortunately, like in FALSTAFF it doesn't match the picture, at least on YouTube. Listen to the 20 minutes without the picture (Fuck yes, turn it off) and you will get a much greater ...

Re: Official OTHER SIDE OF THE WIND Thread - All things OSotW he

Stafford Repp appears to be playing the lines in the script that were meant for both MATT COSTELLO (Paul Stewart) and MAGGIE (Mercedes McCambridge) who were obviously not available on the set that day. Does anyone know the actor playing HYMIE FRANKL, who has just arrived from Texas after trying to g...

Re: Eternal Light - Welles narrates for the Shah of Iran

Thanks for posting this Mike, I've been dying to see Welles narration for this celebration of 2,500 years of Persian history that the Shaw celebrated in 1971. As we know now the Shaw of Iran's brother in law went on to help finance Orson Welles's final two films, F FOR FAKE and THE OTHER SIDE OF THE...

Re: Official OTHER SIDE OF THE WIND Thread - All things OSotW he

Nice to see those photos, but this is part of the problem with OSOTW. Asking $500. for six photos is quite absurd! It's also why FALSTAFF remains unseen. People seem to think Welles name is worth big money, when just the opposite is true. If FALSTAFF should come out on Blu ray I'd guess it would onl...

Ray, thanks for the terrific job on the family page!

It's great to see all the pictures together in one spot, many of which I hadn't seen before.

I'm sure Chris and Beatrice will like it as well.

Re: HELL ON ICE broadcast on CD

Although I have this radio show, I've never listened to it. Why is because ORSON WELLES did way more work in his short 70 years on the planet earth in radio, film, theater and TV than anyone, even Simon Callow, could possibly absorb and report on in the detail it demands. Hence the need for WELLESNET!
