I wonder if Criterion might release some kind of box set containing Kane, Journey Into Fear, The Stranger, Mr. Arkadin, The Trial, The Other Side of the Wind, F for Fake (new restoration) and The Eyes of Orson Welles?

Maybe The Eyes of Orson Welles will be a extra on the KANE release?

Liked The Stranger the first time i viewed it and it's my first Welles film i bought on dvd back in 2000 released by Laserlight.

There could be a chance that Kane might be Criterion’s first 4K release?

It's being reported on a few websites that in a recent Zoom lecture Jonathan Rosenbaum mentioned that he is planning to record a commentary track on Citizen Kane with James Naremore. Also there is talk that Criterion might release it on Blu-ray or a 4K release by Warner Bros?

You can now pre-order tickets for Kane's release in the theaters on September 19 & 22. My drive to the nearest theater is about a half hour.

Great podcast and very informative. I hope more folks will see the film when it comes out in the theaters later this year.

"The Genius Who Failed"...is a awful title. I do not considered Orson and what he has done as failures.

Did the Hearst newspapers have negative reviews of Kane or did they just ignored the film?

When i viewed Citizen Kane for the first time in a theater it was about twenty years ago in one of those multi-plex ones and they shown it widescreen and not the 1:33 aspect ratio. I did complain to the manager afterwards.

Viewed Gone With The Wind back in 2019 in the theater and the image looked a little darker and less colorful as compared to the Blu-ray. Happy i saw it in the theater and if i remember correctly every seat was taken.

Viewed the first 2 hour episode last night and liked it. Was surprised on the many photos of him when he was young.

With all the nominations i hope it will be released on disc and i hope Criterion will get the rights to do that.
