Re: Netflix films headed to Criterion; no word on ‘The Other Side of the Wind’

The Eyes of Orson Welles is reported to be a future Criterion release but nothing yet. Maybe it will be a extra when they release Wind on disc?

Re: What She Said: The Art Of Pauline Kael

I just finished watching it on dvd and liked it. Glad they talked about her and Citizen Kane and she did say in a interview she liked Orson's films and respected him as a director. I think the best parts were the interview with her daughter and archival interviews of directors responding to Kael's r...

Re: The Plot Thickens. TCM podcast on PETER BOGDANOVICH

I did finish listening to all of it and it was well made and listening to Peter's voice talking about his film career and private life. I did like Peter talking about Saint Jack and They All Laughed which is his favorite film and have to say both films i like.

Re: Lady From Shanghai

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is conducting a poll for their next Columbia Classics 4K Ultra HD Collection volume 2 and on this list of possible films is The Lady From Shanghai. It would be nice to see the film in 4K and there are a lot of good films to pick from. https://secure.sonypictures.com/...

What She Said: The Art Of Pauline Kael

On August 7th a documentary "What She Said: The Art Of Pauline Kael" will be released on dvd & Blu-ray with new interviews and never-before seen archival material. I am sure her controversial essay on Citizen Kane will be in it.

Waterloo (1970)

Just viewed the Imprint Blu-ray release of Waterloo and the movie is good but no War & Peace the director made a few years before it. Have to say Orson is out of place as King Louis XVIII but it's a brief appearance. The Blu-ray looks great with a clean looking print of the film.

Re: Netflix films headed to Criterion; no word on ‘The Other Side of the Wind’

That would be great if Criterion gets to release it. Have no issues with streaming but like the physical format and want to have the film on my shelf.

I hope it will be released on disc so folks with no Netflix can have their own copy or check it out at their local library.

Re: War of the Worlds on Criterion.

I noticed Criterion releases some titles that are already on Blu-ray. I wish they would release more that are not and there are a few that they released on laserdisc or earlier on dvd that they have not touched.
