Re: Is The Mr. Arkadin Criterion DVD still in print?

Just looked at the Criterion website and the dvd box set is "Currently Unavailable" and there is speculation that a Blu-ray set might be coming soon?

Re: Third Man American version

I did a quick search on Ebay and there were many vhs tapes but most of them have the running time of between 100 and 104 minutes. Even the first VHS issued by The Nostalgia Merchant in 1981 has the running time of 100 minutes. By the way i found a Japanese laserdisc that has a listed running time of...

Re: The Immortal Story on DVD & Blu-Ray

Website Blu-ray.com has a "late" review of the Criterion release. The reviewer calls the film "odd but kind of weirdly captivating piece".

Saw this interesting link on the Home Theater Forum website about a twitter post on the movie to be released by Criterion.

Re: The Orson Welles Show

I think the pilot would make a great extra on a Criterion release when they put out another film of his.

Re: Orson Welles licensed merchandise

I think Orson would have had a good laugh seeing the Kane by Wells t-shirt.

I think more folks will see the film once it's released on disc. I do not stream but did subscribe to Netflix for one month just to see the movie and documentaries.

I saw on Ebay some old dvd releases of The Third Man that might have Joseph Cotton doing the narration.

Re: Criterion's 'Chimes at Midnight' previews and reviews

Blu-ray.com has a rather late review of the Criterion release. Brief but favorable review of the film and disc.

Re: The new 4K Third Man

Was going to get the single disc release at £12 but now I might spend the extra money and get the limited edition.

Liked the film and the documentaries plus it was my first time streaming. I give Orson credit for trying something different.

Re: ‘The Other Side of the Wind’ being finished in Los Angeles for Netflix

I wonder if Criterion would get the rights to release a Blu-ray since they have released a good number of Orson's films?

Re: 'Citizen Kane' on CNN's The Movies

Something else I noticed about the CNN episode is that they spent less than one minute on silent films. Griffith, Chaplin, Keaton, and others were important to the history of film and should have had more about them instead of a few stills.

I saw that too and he said that Rosebud came from a name of a bicycle which is the first time I heard of that.
