I know I mentioned this to Jeff a long, long time ago, but since I finally broke down and bought a digital camera AND figured out how to use it (I guess these fingers were made for pecking and picking, not clicking), I'm emailing them to Jeff to plop in here <I have no idea what a URL is> -- hope they turn out. I bought these promotional pieces about 14 years ago in Seattle at a movie poster shop that is still in business, but the seller had little info on these. If any one has any ideas, has seen something like this, or any other pertinent ideas/opinions, I'd appreciate it. It's a four-piece set that is obviously of some long-ago vintage, but have a distinct inexpensive craftsmanship (being a Republic picture, it isn't so illogical that maybe Mr. Yates nailed these together himself). I'll post each item separately and provide a little info...
FIRST, the TITLE SHEET, shaped like a shield, which is made out of a lighter pressboard/heavier cardboard like material, along with a thicker board that forms the back and trimming. Looking at them closely, you can definitely see that these were handmade, not a massive production, there are nails sticking out of the back, and it appears that some of the words, heavily smudged, are of chalk or something very similar.
#2, THE LARGE PHOTO measures 35cm (roughly 13-3/4" wide) by 49cm (19-1/3") long. Its a heavier press board material, largest piece in the bunch, with a tin covered 40.5cm strip that goes across the top. The photo is of McBeth reclining, with Lady and her maid at his side -- its sepia tone with what looks like hand tinting of his top, the ladies jewels and his tartan.
#3 & 4, CIRCULAR PLATES measuring 18cm in diameter; they are pieces with photos pasted to them, nailed to circular backing. The photos I've sent aren't really in focus, still haven't mastered close-up shots. The actual pictures are fairly sharp, but suffering from scratching and tears that marr a few key areas. One's a photo of McBeth fencing with his rival, the other has a good portion of the cast, including OW, J. Nolan and R. McDowall, raising candles.
These items are in OK shape considering, but are in need of serious rehab and restoration. They have an assortment of nails sticking out of them, which due to moving and poor storage has likely left a few scratches, along with the scratches they came with. Hope you enjoy...

In lieu of a better set-up, pics of these are posted to the main Macbeth page, found at this link. Although now I see that they're out of order according to dmolson's description...

Are you not able to open the link? It worked when i just tried it. The pictures are on the Macbeth index page on Wellesnet, just go to the film page and click on the Macbeth banner.

Some web browser "pop-up" blockers can create the kind of blockage dmolson describes. Most can be turned on and off by the user, on demand, selectively to get around the problem.
