On or around October 11, 1985 NPR presented a tribute to Orson Welles who passed away on October 10. Does anyone have a audiocassette copy or transcript of the program, in particular an interview with Patrick McGoohan with whom Welles worked with on MOBY DICK REHEARSED? I've contacted NPR headquarters and my local NPR station with no luck.
Thank you,
Melissa
National Public Radio's 1985 Tribute to Welles
I had no luck finding the NPR tribute to OW. NPR headquarters doesn;t have it and the program guides of my local station, WNYC, don't show that it was ever aired by them.
If anyone can suggest a local NPR station that might have aired the program, or have a mailing address for the OW Estate, I'd be grateful. I visited the OW Estate website, but the e-mail I sent to the webmaster got kicked back to me.
Thank you,
Melissa

Welles' estate (and that web site doesn't have anything to do with it, so far as I know), likely won't do anything for you. Your only other option might be to check with old time radio fans, who would be the likeliest people to have saved a copy. Not sure what site would be best for that, but aside from checking with a bunch of NPR stations, I don't know what else to tell you.
