Look out, Joel. Rick frequents the board and, right now, there is peace among us. :) I have to admit, however, that when Jaime goes off, I get more than an ounce of chuckles.

We really need to get Bogdanovich on the board, and Beatrice and Oja (even though I think she's here already.)

Bought the Vantiy Fair. Read the article. Excellent.

joel, and fredic, thank you for the kind words. joel, welcome to the board, and rick does frequent the board.

would be great if bogdanovich visited the board. his comatose commentary on KANE i think i've enjoyed more than ebert's. bogdanovich could bring that zanax quality that the board would benefit from.

fredric, you think beatrice also frequents the board?! you have any suspicions to share?

i don't go-off here as much as i used to at deja, or at d-for-dialogue.

Not Beatrice. She'd probably have the board shut down. But I do get the psychic impression of Oja having visited here. Whether she has posted or not is another thing.

For those of us coming late to this party, what's the best way to get a back issue of Vanity Fair? The local shops seem to only have the Feb issue, now.

I guess the library would work, but I'd love to buy a real copy, to get the pictures in their best quality.

I got my copy from a nice librarian. I was just sittin' here at the computer, familiar person comes from behind, sets down the magazine and goes away. Without even saying anything. I have a feeling he may be a Welles fan too. Or he's just a nice librarian that gives a damn, as some librarians don't.

:)

Yeah, so i got a copy. Made a xerox copy of the original pages, threw the rest of the magazine away. Put the original pages in manilla envelope, labeled, sealed and put away. Protectively and abc orderly.

Reading it? Well, started too, then got to that part where Orson got upset about them wanting to see it and him not. The photographs are fantastic, but rather read on the board than read the rest. After reading 3 biographies, I kind of stopped reading altogether.

???
