I've read something aobut "The Magnificent Ambersons" and I'm too eager to watch it... Once I read somewhere that there had been a scene on the Pacific ocean in this movie that was cut from movie. Have you read or heard anything of it and is there any way to get hold of it?
Please if you've heard anything, tell me why it was cut?
Thanks

Try using the search function on the board, and you will find plenty of threads about Ambersons and why it was cut. If you haven't seen the film, though, you might try watching it first, and then any information you find will make a bit more sense.

The Pacific was where RKO used to dump all the footage they cut from unfinished Welles films that were turning out too good to show...

The Criterionforum.org has a article about Universal releasing
a UK region 2 dvd release of The Magnificent Ambersons. I hope to read more about the extras on it as the release date
becomes final.....hint Warner Bros.?.....

Unfortunately, the footage cut from Ambersons was destroyed, so unless a print is floating around out there (something which is highly unlikely), we'll never see the film as Welles intended.

perhaps we could have a 'frequently asked questions' page, linking to some of the more informative threads?
