Orson Welles's cigars

Postby Jack Falstaff » Wed Oct 29, 2014 10:55 pm

Does anybody know what cigars Welles used to smoke, or what his favorite brand was?

Davidoff writes in one of his books that he liked "Montecristos" by Por Larranaga, which don't exist. He probably meant the Montecarlos but those are stick-thin cigars and I can't imagine him smoking them...

I remember reading somewhere that he liked Romeo and Jiulietta cigars too. Big ones.

Thanks Julie. Excellent taste in cigars OW had, as in just about everything else. I'm partial to Macs myself...although only once in awhile. I wonder which kind he used when he played Le Chiffre? :D
