Here's a 1952 episode of the Harry Lime radio show. Some sources state the series was produced, directed and edited by Welles (it was taped rather than aired live.) The series was broadcast in two versions, in England as The Lives of Harry Lime and in the US as The Adventures of Harry Lime. The Lives episodes were longer and included an intro by Welles, an announcement of the episode's title, and long passages of Anton Karas music (which were not included in the shortened Adventures versions.) However, the surviving Adventures episodes have superior audio quality.
This episode is known variously as The Dead Candidate and Buzzo Gospel. It's one of the episodes written by Welles (though producer Harry Alan Towers infers they were actually written by Ernest Borneman.) Welles adapted it into a film treatment for Alexander Korda (who died before the project went anywhere) and published it in 1953 under the title Une Grosse Legume (which was a novelization by Maurice Bessy based on Welles' treatment.)
This is a re-edit of the Adventures version (with the otherwise missing intro and title pasted in a suitable spot.)
