HALLOWEEN: an Orson ghost story, plus!

Postby Wich2 » Sun Oct 30, 2016 9:36 am

I just learned that WBAI host Max Schmid's 7p -11p GOLDEN AGE OF RADIO tonight (October 30th) will include HARRY LIME's ghost story, Halloween memories from Jean Shepherd, something from recently departed John Zacherle (The Cool Ghoul), as well as my own FRANKENSTEIN (at 8pm.)

99.5 FM in the NY area, and streaming live at http://wbai.org/

Thanks Craig. I'm trying to think of which Lime episode is the ghost story. "The Ago of Gold" is probably the creepiest in the series, so maybe it's that one.

I look forward to heard to hearing your Frankenstein, considering how good your Merchant and Abe Lincoln shows were.

Thanks for the gracious words, Chief.

I'll leave the response up to you; but I can say that FRANK is a also labor of love, and the chance to play a character like The Monster is a sacred honor.

The LIME ep. was "Hand of Glory." Max had cited it as a ghost story, and Welles even uses the word in the show; but though a weird story, I'm not sure I see ghosties in it...

Happy Halloween,
-Craig

P.S. - Max's four-hour Halloween Spectacular - with our FRANKENSTEIN about one hour in - will be archived for a limited time. Go to the link below, and find GOLDEN AGE OF RADIO, and then EVERYTHING OLD IS NEW AGAIN, for October 30th. (Thanks to those of you who tuned in, had kind words, and even contributed!)

Yes, you're right. It was "Hand of Glory" I was thinking of.
