Someone named "Ginny", who plans on attending the Kenosha celebration, has written this fine piece on the Welles centennial for Old Movies Nostalgia:

From the Citizen Welles Society of Kenosha 5/26/15:
Yesterday's Magnificent Amberson's event was incredible! We had noted Welles scholar Joseph McBride here and he hosted the film and included actual reconstructed scenes the way Welles actually intended them to be, not the "mutilated masterpiece" it became. McBride talked about the Kenosha influences present in the movie and the themes that appeared throughout many of his movies. We had a lively and engaging crowd who asked McBride questions well beyond the time we had planned. Afterward we went over to the Welles birthplace on 7th Avenue and were able to enter the foyer, which has never been allowed in the past (thank you to the Del Frate family!). All in all, a magnificent day!
