Fade to Black trailer
That link didn't work for me. Here's another one, although the sound gets more and more out-of-sync:

Back on Feb. 16th, Glenn announced this film was coming in the spring; I warned him that the Weinsteins often buy films which they later decide not to release (as detailed by Jonathan Rosenbaum in his "Movie Wars" book) but Glenn was adamant:
"Succinctly, FADE TO BLACK will be released in the United States by the Weinstein Company this Spring, about the same time that THE HOAX appears. We should be celebrating that, in my opinion, instead of undermining the reports and the distributors".
Typical Glenn style, but where is Fade to Black? I sure hope it is released, but I'm having serious doubts it will be. The trailer looks awful.

No one could be more disappointed than I that FADE TO BLACK has not been released in the the United States. All I did, as usual, is to report that several official Oliver Parker and Weinstein sites announced that the film would have a U.S. theatrical showing, the date dependent upon its worldwide distribution.
What happened?
I don't know.
The only thing I can suggest is that between the time of FADE TO BLACK's Spanish release on March 30, 2007, and its Croatian (Oja's?) release on May 25, 2007, Peter Bogdanovich's April announcement that THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WIND would brought out by Showtime in 2008 -- HAPPENED!!
This information may be BS, but I am only the harbinger here.
I am sure that all genuine Wellsians would hope and pray that Bogdanovich knows of what he speaks. If so, any number of Welles' projects, admirable or not, will see the light of screen in the next year.
HURRAH!
Meanwhile, I would ask my compadres to come to my defense. If I am wrong, it is not because I am stupid or perfidious. An individual on this board has attacked me personally, gratuitously, for the THIRD TIME, over the last three years, on Welles' matter which are open to interpretation.
I am not a distinguished Wellsian, only an old school teacher who fell in love with CITIZEN KANE when he saw it at Shea's Theater, Geneva, Ohio, in the Spring of 1941, but I am not among the dim-witted academicians who have picked over Welles' bones since then. I revere Welles's works, as an amateur, and try to maintain a balanced view of his illustrious life and career.
In other words, troopers, over this latest snarky attack, I think I have grounds for being pissed!
If I am wrong, I entertain your chastisements for making honest mistakes.
Let us hope that THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WIND will be seen in a completed form before the end of 2008. If so, all will be well.
If not, those who post here (I assume) should be disappointed and filled with genuine frustration.

Glenn:
I am merely pointing out that I warned you that this release quite likely would not happen because of the Weinstein's track record, and in return you got....shall we say... defensive and rude?
Now it hasn't happened; perhaps you could apologize to me; perhaps you could say "Gee, Tony: it seems you were right- I was mistaken. Sorry I attacked you."
Instead you say: "I would ask my compadres to come to my defense." What's this: are you getting the gang together to beat me up?
C'mon, Glenn: let's act like adults, not schoolboys.
