Fade to Black on Netflix streaming

Fade to Black the 2006 fiction film about Orson Welles in post war Italy is now on Netflix Streaming

http://www.netflix.com/Movie/Fade-to-Black/70143551

I watched it - very disappointing - slow moving - weak direction although the cast was good
I can see why it was never released in US theaters

I like Danny Huston - He didn;t make a very convincing Orson Welles (he seemed way older than the 33 that Orson Welles would have been during the shooting of Black Magic.

anyway for Welles junkies it is something!

I enjoyed the film as well as Danny Huston's performance, but yeah you're right, it's a film that would be of interest mainly to Welles fans. I'm glad it's available to be seen on Netflix, but I think I'll stick with my DVD of it, since that has subtitles, which helps with some of the heavy poitical dialogue spoken by the foreign actors in the cast, some of whom have pretty thick accents.

I watched this last night and enjoyed it. I appreciated the more low-key approach and how the very familiar murder mystery tropes had a few unique twists. Then again, I wasn't expecting much. Huston is definitely too old for the role and he sounds much more like his father than he does Welles, but the film has fun with "Welles" as a character without demeaning the real man. There is intelligence behind the screenplay if not a lot of excitement. I did find it odd that the epilogue text claims that Welles never made a home in the U.S. again; certainly his houses in Las Vegas and Los Angeles would qualify, right?
