The Third Man (Blu-ray) - mini-review

The Third Man (Blu-ray)
*****
This 1949 espionage thriller is an undisputed classic thanks to the reunion of Joseph Cotten and Orson Welles as Holly Martins and Harry Lime, respectively, but as lauded as this Carol Reed masterpiece may be, it's never looked better than it does now – on Blu-ray – thanks to some impressive digital remastering and restoration based on the original 35-mm master positive.
Other Blu-ray features include uncompressed mono soundtrack, video introduction by Peter Bogdanovich, audio commentary from Steven Soderbergh, documentary feature, BBC TV show on Graham Greene, The Third Man on radio, archival footage of postwar Vienna and more.

The Third Man (Blu-ray)
*****
The pops, hisses and scratches have defined this film for many a movie buff, but there’s no reason to be a movie martyr any longer. The Criterion collection is releasing the Carol Reed-Graham Greene classic starring Joseph Cotten and Orson Welles on Blu-ray, with a host of new extras, including high-def transfer, uncompressed mono soundtrack, video intro by Peter Bogdanovich, two audio commentaries, including one by Steven Soderbergh, Graham Greene: The Hunted Man, Who Was the Third Man?, Third Man on Radio, archival footage of postwar Vienna and more.

Does anyone have this disc? How is the flicker? That has always been the biggest flaw with previous versions I've seen -- lots of flicker in the image.
