The Third Man screening & Angela Allen Q&A - 6th Feb 2013

Postby Jedediah Leland » Sat Jan 19, 2013 7:05 pm

London's National Liberal Club will be running a screening of "The Third Man" on Wednesday 6th February 2013, which will be followed by a Q&A session with Angela Allen, one of the last surviving members of the crew. Angela has very lucid memories of the whole thing, and was present throughout filming in both Vienna and London. She was also a long-time collaborator with John Huston for over 30 years, from 'The African Queen' (1951) until his death. (The 2005 'Arena' documentary on 'The Third Man' has some snippets of her and Guy Hamilton wandering around Vienna, reminiscing about filming.)

The screening is free, with the Q&A afterwards costing just £5 to cover overheads and a glass of wine. Welles will definitely be among the topics raised in questions.

I'm legally obliged to mention that as it's a private members' club, the event is for members and their guests only - but as the organiser, I can also say that if any British-based Wellesians out there are interested, PM me and I'd be only too happy to add you to the guest list.

(As I'm fairly new to this forum, apologies to the admins if I've not posted in the best place - this seemed to be the most appropriate section!)
