Jodorowsky's Dune

Postby Wellesnet » Tue Feb 18, 2014 4:09 pm

Trailer for the new documentary about the famous unmade film, which would have starred Orson Welles as Baron Harkonnen:

Great poster for the film:

Here are a couple of images imagining Welles as Baron Harkonnen:

Also, an interesting webpage on the film, with some surviving snippets of animation from Jodorowsky and Moebius's aborted film project, L'INCAL, which grew out of the aborted DUNE project;

Here's an interview with Jodorowsky and a clip from the new documentary, pertaining to Welles as Harkonnen:

Jodorowsky's DUNE is definitely a documentary worth seeing especially in the extra footage segment where J and his former producer walk the streets of Paris and reminisce not just about the film but the problem of creativity in general. :D

Thanks Tony. Haven't had a chance to check the Bluray out yet, but it sounds like it's pretty generous with the deleted footage.

Jodorowsky's latest film, THE DANCE OF REALITY, is coming out soon on Bluray as well. His first film in over 20 years, and some have compared it to Fellini's AMARCORD:

I've only seen the standard version but it does have a lot of extras including the one I mentioned.
