Kind of a strange project for him...

Coming soon to a theater near you: Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers.
Peter Bogdanovich, director of “The Last Picture Show,” will accompany the group on their upcoming tour and piece together a documentary on their 30 years together.
“We’ve given him access we’ve never given anybody,” Petty said.
Pearl Jam, Trey Anastasio and the Allman Brothers Band will share the bill at some of the stops on the Highway Companion Tour. The gigs begin June 9 in Charlotte, N.C.
