Yeah, Richard? For calling Fake "one of [Welles'] throw-away films" and twice feeling the need to opine "[Fake's] not a great film?" Which other of Welles' directorial efforts does he suggest we throw away? No, for that dubious task I'll begin with Gere's ouvre, not Orson's. I'll probably still see The Hoax (or at least make an attempt,) but the tagline seems to sum up the apocryphal changes to the incident: "why let the truth get in the way of a good story?" Why? Oh, I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I tend to like veracity in my docudramas. I didn't dig the one about Debbie Reynolds saving Jesus from the cross and then leading the Panzer charge against Genghis Khan...

Bad publicity destroys lives and careers, which is one of the reasons Welles had such trouble in his.
