Here's a recording of the show "At Your Service" on KMOX, St. Louis, Missouri, 20th November 1970. Host is Jim White, guest is Howard Koch promoting his book "The Panic Broadcast". The show ran from 8pm until midnight. The first two hours are complete minus commercials. War Of The Worlds is played in its entirety (running too fast - it may be that the cassette needs speed correcting but everything else sounds right so I don't know if it was perhaps played out a little fast by KMOX and I generally don't bother to speedcorrect if things sound 'right') At 10pm Howard Koch leaves and the final 2 hours are condensed down to 30 minutes. They played a bunch of other OTR clips (missing from this recording) and took listeners phone calls talking about The War Of The Worlds and OTR in general.

Howard Koch on KMOX 1970 talking about War Of The Worlds
Re: Howard Koch on KMOX 1970 talking about War Of The Worlds
Thanks Dan!
Here's the Chuck Schaden interview with Koch from 1988. I haven't listened to the KMOX yet, but in this one Koch credits all the creative decisions in the adaption to Welles:

Thanks, I didn't know about that one.
(I'd been looking through my tapes for any related material, documentaries etc. I also found "Leonard Maltin - Theatre Of The Imagination", 1988, but I think that's a well known one isn't it?)

Interesting. KMOX's copy of WOTW contains one of the lines not available in the commercial version: "strange to see from my window the university spires dim and blue through an April haze." This line is in the Paul Stewart master and Lilly's duplicate of the Welles master. I wonder where KMOX's copy originated. Koch?

Is it coming for Halloween, Craig? Because that would be COOL.

He's got interviews with several other Mercury people on that site (Cotten, Moorehead, et al.):

The Maltin show is a common, and very good, one yes.
Here's a neat thing, 2 hours of TV coverage of WOTW's 50th anniversary:
