Orson Welles’ newly restored “Chimes at Midnight” is being rolled out to more screens across the U.S.
The film will continue through January 19 at the Film Forum.
The restored movie is being distributed domestically by Janus Films.
Initial audience reaction has been positive.
Like all Orson Welles movies, “Chimes at Midnight” influenced many filmmakers.
Screenings are planned at more than a dozen U.S. theaters in early 2016.
The newly restored “Chimes at Midnight” will be shown at the Film Forum on January 1 through 12.
A cinematic Shakespearean tribute is planned for January 2016.
