To mark the 75th anniversary of The Third Man, Film Forum in New York City will screen a 35mm print of the Carol Reed-directed classic.
Showings at the West Houston Street theater are scheduled from December 29, 2023 through January 4 , 2024. (It has since been held over to January 11.)

Written by Graham Greene, The Third Man stars Joseph Cotten as Holly Martins, an American writer of Westerns, who arrives in post-war Vienna to visit his old friend Harry Lime (Orson Welles). On arrival, he learns that his friend has been killed in a street accident. Further, military police chief Major Calloway (Trevor Howard) informs him that Lime was a black marketer wanted by the police. Alida Valli and Bernard Lee co-star.
The film was honored with an Academy Award, British Film Academy Award and the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival.
