Thank you for this very welcome update, Ray. Not "retrograde planets in the ascendency" but alien nations engaging in invasion as Donald would say. We all appreciate your efforts in MWNGN - "Making Wellesnet Great again! :P

I never wanted to institute IP country blocks, but there was little choice. There have been frequent DDoS and bot attacks out of eastern Europe and southeast Asia. I was also forced to ban several pesky IP addresses in North America that appear on spam blacklists.

Yeah we're here, but we're waiting to see if the board is going to stay up or not.

So far so good.

It looks like the mobile version of the front page still has the message board link. When I followed it and it came up fine, I hoped against hope there was an eleventh-hour reprieve, but it looks like it was just an oversight.

Since I decline to sign up for Facebook and that’ll apparently disconnect me from the Wellesnet community once the lights go out for good, it might be opportune for me to echo the sentiment I’ve seen elsewhere that this has been a vibrant and invaluable resource over the years, and I’m grateful that it stuck around for as long as it did. I regret that it finally joins the growing mausoleum of retired internet “sacred texts,” especially since Welles news never actually seems to come to a standstill. There are always discoveries being made, books being published, 4Ks being announced, and THE LOST PRINT seems like it might finally be approaching release. Even under glass, though, this place will have a lot to offer Welles enthusiasts for a long time to come.

Jason,
I am trying to rebuild the forum with considerable outside help. It is up for testing purposes at this point.

I'm heartened to hear that. Here's hoping I gave my eulogy premature.

Glad to see the board back up! I haven't posted much here, but I've read several of the old threads and know that it would be a shame to lose all the info and discussion this board contains.

I failed to set Guests as "read access only," which allowed for a few posts from non-users. That has been rectified

I have had a member request to add a "like"👍 option to the board. I am looking into that possibilty.

On February 19, 2026, the Message Board was moved to a new folder and the proper URL is https://wellesnet.com/wmb
Redirects are in place, so this should be seamless.
